We encourage independent exploration along the trails year round and in the Learning Center Barn.

There is no bad weather, only bad clothing selections. Always bring multiple layers to warm up or cool down. The trails are open every day, all four seasons.

For your Picnic pleasure

WPNR is a wonderful place to have a picnic with a range of natural and covered locations. 
​You're welcome to bring your blankets and chairs anytime of year!

Parking

Cars
Parking is available off of Rt. 981 North. Follow the driveway to the front of the barn (handicap parking available)
​
Additional parking is available at the park and walk location off of St. Vincent Drive. Visitors that park at this location have direct access to the outdoor restrooms and walking trails.

School Buses
All size school buses are able to drive down the Walzer Way driveway (from the East Entrance) in order to drop off/pick up students. Please drop visitors off at the front door of the Environmental Learning Barn and move the bus to the bus parking area on the other side of the garden loop.

Closings

As part of Saint Vincent College, the Winnie Palmer Nature Reserve closes on some holidays and may close on emergency (snow) days.
News of these closures will be posted on our Facebook page, Instagram and Twitter feed.

restrooms & water

Outdoor restrooms and water fountain located at the Park and Walk lot from Saint Vincent Drive.
​Indoor restrooms and water fountain are available in the Learning Center Barn Tues. thru Fri. 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM 

Furry Friends are welcome

WPNR's trails are the perfect setting for a brisk walk with your dog(s). 

We require dogs to be leashed and that you clean up any waste. 
There are waste stations located on the reserve for your convenience.
