Outside Your Frosty Window Series - Wildlife
Saturdays at the Barn
Time:10:00 AM
Cost:FREE

Pennsylvania is special with its four distinct seasons and drastic changes between them.  For example, you can see the sun beating down on an animal on a typical Pennsylvanian summer day, with temperatures breaking around 100 degrees Fahrenheit, the stagnant air heavily clinging to everything outside.  A mere six months later, that same animal can be seen out of your window on a barren white landscape with biting wind-chill factors below -40 degrees Fahrenheit, all vegetation buried under three feet of snow and ice.  "Outside your Frosty Window" is a seven-part education series that focuses on how wildlife in Western PA survives the piles of snow and bitter chill of the winter.

Each program will be led by Ali Klofta, Senior undergraduate student in Environmental Science.  Each session is centered around a specific group: plants, mammals, reptiles, amphibians, birds, fish, and an overview of all wildlife.  Come join the fun and figure out what's happening in that winter wonderland outside of your own window!
